About the Campaign – Nourish to Flourish

“Fuel Your Body, Fuel Your Mind”

The “Nourish to Flourish” campaign is a university-wide initiative led by junior Pharm.D students to raise awareness about the critical role of nutrition in health. By combining pharmaceutical knowledge with public education, this campaign empowers individuals to make informed decisions about food, supplements, and overall wellness.

🎯 Campaign Goals

  • Promote balanced nutrition and healthy food habits
  • Increase awareness of micronutrient deficiencies in the local population
  • Provide education on safe supplement use and drug-nutrient interactions
  • Deliver personalized nutrition counseling based on health parameters
  • Encourage healthy lifestyle changes supported by pharmacy practice

💬 Myths vs Facts in Nutrition

  • Myth: “Skipping meals helps you lose weight.”
Fact: Skipping meals slows metabolism and often leads to overeating later.

  • Myth: “All supplements are safe because they’re natural.”
Fact: Some supplements interact with medications and may harm specific patients (e.g., warfarin + vitamin K).

  • Myth: “Only overweight people need to worry about nutrition.”
Fact: Underweight individuals may also suffer from serious deficiencies.

  • Myth: “Vitamin C cures colds.”
Fact: While it may reduce severity slightly, it doesn't cure or prevent viral infections alone.
